Specialist in Autism within Black and Asian Minority Ethnic (BAME) Communities
As a Black Muslim Mental Health Therapist, my commitment lies in supporting individuals and families from Black and Asian Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities facing the challenges of autism. My specialism focuses on providing culturally sensitive, informed, and empathetic therapy tailored to the unique needs of these communities.
Autism is often underdiagnosed or misunderstood within Black and Asian communities due to cultural stigmas, lack of awareness, and systemic barriers in accessing appropriate care. These challenges can lead to significant delays in diagnosis and insufficient counselling support for individuals and their families. My practice aims to bridge this gap by delivering services that respect cultural nuances while offering evidence-based care.
In addition to trauma counselling, I provide research and dissertation support for fellow counsellors including Statistical Program for Social Sciences (SPSS software support), assisting you in your professional development and helping you achieve your qualifications and accreditations. My background in counselling and psychotherapy equips me with the skills to guide you through your research, ensuring it aligns with best practices and contributes positively to your career.
I have compiled some informative resources designed to help manage mental health.
